Everyone knows that life can make us sweat sometimes: before a first date, ahead of an exam or at the gym. In these cases, sweat has the vital function of keeping the body’s temperature regulated. But if the body produces excess sweat, this is referred to as hyperhidrosis. At Skin & Aesthetic in Frankfurt, we take a particularly gentle approach to treating excessive sweating.

When sweating gets out of hand

Sufferers of hyperhidrosis can experience outbreaks of sweating without any apparent reason. This particularly afflicts the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and the armpits. When this happens, the sweat glands are being frequently contacted by the corresponding nerves and excessively stimulated. This constant sweating is not only an unpleasant experience for afflicted patients, it also makes their skin a breeding ground for eczemas, warts or fungal infections.

Treating hyperhidrosis

Skin & Aesthetic offers you several modern treatment options to combat excessive sweating.

Aluminum chloride hexahydrate

This substance suppresses the formation of sweat by sealing the excretory ducts. It is applied in various concentrations to the affected areas as required. This is a gentle and low allergenic treatment.

Hyperhidrosis treatment with botox

In this method, botulinum toxin is injected into the top layer of skin. It inhibits the transfer of the nerve stimuli to the sweat glad cells. The effects of this therapy last for 6 - 12 months. The treatment is then repeated after that.
